Detainees in California Suing ICE and Commissioners in Newark Admonishing ICE for Poor Conditions
Newark, NJ, California City, CA Nov. 13, 2025 - According to the MSN Patch, Essex County commissioners are demanding ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) address the "inhumane and unspeakable treatment" taking place at the Delaney Hall federal immigration detention center in Newark. The sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stating that the conditions in the prison, run by the GEO Group, the largest private prison company in America, at getting "increasingly more concerning". The allegations are that the have lockdowns that last for days, are verbally abuse by guards, prevent access to commissary funds and have blocked phone numbers.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that seven of the immigrants held at the new detention center in California City file a lawsuit against ICE administration yesterday alleging inhumane conditions. They state that they do not have adequate food, water and medical care. They claim that the center restricted family visits, denied access to attorneys for weeks, neglected people with disabilities and have excessively put detainees in solitary confinement. They also state the units are dirty with freezing temperatures and religious accoutrements and texts have been taken away. In a phone interview with Gomez Ruiz, the Chronical reported him as saying in Spanish, "I've been cleaning the blood with toilet paper. I'm scared to lose my foot. It feels like they don't care that I'm sick."

Commentary

This is not surprising as ICE and Border Patrol agents have repeatedly violated the 4th and 6th Amendment rights of those they arrest which surprisingly includes hundreds of America citizens. However, do not be fooled, our constitution applies to everyone within our borders, whether they immigrated legally or not. With Republican administration, a party that uses the Christian religion for votes, it is difficult how they can justify this treatment of immigrants when the bible clearly states:

“The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.” Leviticus 19:34

All of this needs to stop. As I stated in a previous commentary, Ronald Reagan, a Republican president, in his final address to the nation reminded us that immigrants are what keep our nation young and strong.

Economists Predict Tarriffs Will Cause Decline in Stock Market and Dollar
Washington, DC Mar. 21, 2025 - Within days, leading economists predict that the tariffs hinted at by Trump will cause turmoil in the stock market and threaten the dollar as foreign owners of our debt drop it like a hot potato. The chances of a recession by the end of the year was only about 23% a little over a month ago, but has risen to 50% and will continue to rise as the tariffs take effect on the economy. As Democrats predicted in the 2024 campaign, these tariffs will be the equivalent of a huge sales tax on the average American as inflation soars. Those who can least afford the tariffs will be the most affected. Read more...
